ROBBBBIIIIEEEEEE π₯Ίπ₯Ίπ₯Ίπ₯Ίπ₯Ίπ₯Ί
This baby π my heart broke so many times. For a character that had longed for family, for a place to belong, for so much of his life, to have that taken away from him is just gut wrenching. I love the character work done here, with Robbie, Kelly, and the rest of the pack. The trauma of being betrayed so many times would of course manifest itself, and it just makes everything so much sadder π nothing quite hits like amnesia angst ππππ
AND KELLY MY ACE KING ππππ I love love love love how his asexuality is handled through this. So well done. And I was rereading a section of Wolfsong, and I love how the groundwork was laid all along for him being ace; it was subtle but made it feel natural and not like an afterthought or last minute decision.
(Also Carter having a bi panic realization in the middle of a battle xjxkksbcdbsjsbs how very on brand πππ)

Okay, this might be my favorite Green Creek book yet. Maybe? I don't know, it's hard to pick a favorite. There were so many ups and downs in this book, it was a true emotional roller coaster. Kelly and Robbie are absolutely perfect for each other, and there were so many moments where my heart just broke for them.
Plus, the pacing for this book was spot on. I just couldn't put it down. I need everything to be okay in the end! I just need it!
