I love The Little Mermaid, and I love this new take on the tail--errr, I mean tale...
I loved Nyssa and how kind and relatable she was. She has no desire whatsoever to be a ruler, and she's also kind of shy. But at the same time, she's got a sassy/cheeky streak to her. OH! And she has no idea how to talk to attractive men (Same!)
I liked getting to see how her character grew throughout the book, and I also loved the dynamic between her and her mermen.
This story had a lot of world building, and I loved the fact that there were a number of twists that I did not see coming!

I did not care much for this book because it seemed the characters were quite flat. A lot of this book seemed to be cliché instead of something original and while the storyline had potential and is what drew me to the book, I struggled to get through it.

This was my least favorite so far. I loved the first and third book the best. The phrase my Sea pearl was not welcoming and I didn’t care for it at all. Also it was just a little too much for me. It was okay but not as good as I had hoped it would be.
