Really good book, very insightful. It really shows us how the war was and the horrors of it. I would like to follow a career in the military, so this book is really interesting. I didnt give it 5 stars because it got boring at times, some things werent very well demonstrated and written.

Reading through some of the largest battles to take place during WWII from the perspective of individuals was an eye opening experience.
So well written that it feels you are on the journey with these characters, feeling this unbreakable bond that forms between them that started in training and endures across the hellish battlefields of War Torn Europe.
An eye-opening experience, giving a glimpse into the mindset of soldiers serving on the Frontline, from the elation of victory, to the horrors of war.
An absolute excellent book.

Before I read this book I don’t think that I’ve actually read a book about military history. I watched the show that was based off of this book so I obviously had to read this book, and I’m glad that I did. I enjoyed it. It was detailed and I liked quotes from the actual veterans. It focuses on the camaraderie between the men and sort of makes you want to be a part of it.

Great book. I read it every year, and always find something new in it.

This year, I decided to change things up and try the audiobook (the unabridged 12-hour one). It's okay, but the narrator botched the pronunciation of everything from the soldiers' names to cities and towns. He even switched between multiple wrong pronunciations of the same names in a single chapter. If you opt for the audiobook, just be aware that a lot is wrong.
