Colleen Hoover is really good at writing books that are easy to understand that you can move through very quickly. After reading It Ends With Us, I gave Heart Bones and shot and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. The plot felt random, the pacing was kind of off and the dialogue felt awkward along with the inner monologue at times. I also didn't enjoy the behavior that’s excused and almost romanticized in the love interest but that seems to be a common theme in Colleen Hoover’s books.
Moderate: Death of parent, Death, Eating disorder, and Drug abuse

This is such a beautiful story about being young and falling in love.
It’s also about over coming adversity and the power of friendship. It’s about family and learning to trust again. It’s about believing in yourself and holding your ground.
Most of all, it’s about the power we have to change our lives for the better, no matter how impossible it seems.

First Colleen Hoover book. I couldn’t put this down. If you have a history of family trauma, this book is for you.
