Colleen Hoover is really good at writing books that are easy to understand that you can move through very quickly. After reading It Ends With Us, I gave Heart Bones and shot and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. The plot felt random, the pacing was kind of off and the dialogue felt awkward along with the inner monologue at times. I also didn't enjoy the behavior that’s excused and almost romanticized in the love interest but that seems to be a common theme in Colleen Hoover’s books.

Perfect. Faultless. The best and realest love story I have ever read.

This was my second Colleen Hoover book, and I was not disappointed. It was so easy to read, and once the climax began, it was hard to put down. I expected to cry, but I didn’t; that’s fine, though. The ending was satisfying, and I found myself quickly falling in love with the characters. My favorites were Sara and Pepper Jack Cheese (I’m such a sucker for animals). The plot twist was unexpected for me but that’s Colleen for you 😂.
Spoiler I also really liked that she showed the complexity of Samson’s life and the motives for his crimes
Side note: the cover is absolutely gorgeous; props to Murphy Rae.

This is by far one of my favourite Colleen Hoover books. TikTok needs to hype this one up instead of Ugly Love. There’s an actually decent love interest in this one.

Absolutely LOVE Samson and Beyah. They were so freaking adorable. Makes me want my own summer thing 😞.

I’m so glad that the plot twist of this book didn’t reveal that Samson was some heartless criminal.
SpoilerYeah, he went to jail, but only because he was trying to survive for SEVEN YEARS. How are you sending someone to jail for trying to survive????????

The way Beyah waited for him was so cute and their reunion at the end was so precious. It actually had me tearing up.

Because Beyah and Samson were so cute, it made me over look the fact that Samson is blond. That’s three blond book boys I like now.

THAT MOMENT BETWEEN BEYAH AND HER DAD. OH MY GOD, I WAS HOLDING BACK TEARS 🥲🥲🥲. My daddy issues really pulled through.

This book is literally the epitome of summer vibes. Everyone should read it during the summer.
