I wanted to like this book so bad. I love cooking competitions and I was very excited to read a book with a non binary main lead.

But the book was... boring? I hate to say it, but I was not very entertained.

I wanted to love the food competition, but there wasn't enough of it to have any tension or anything really cool about it. It was there solely as a setting and a convenient excuse for a third act break. I wanted that part to be cooler.

And personally I'm not a fan of insta-love. I don't need a total slow burn, but something instant is unbelievable to me and doesn't work. I needed to see the romance build more. (Also, toe sucking will never work for me. *shudders*)

I struggled with my rating for this, as I really appreciate the individual struggles and the queer representation. But the rest just didn't work that well for me, unfortunately.

This is a truly delightful romance. Dahlia and London are fabulous and I rooted for them for beginning.
Overall, this was pleasant, sweet, and a wonderful escape.
Oh, and did I mention the cover works for me? Sweet! Treat yourself to this book!

I have a big doofy grin on my face and it won't go away. The only issue I had with this story was the amorousness when mic'd. London, dearest, you are a audio engineer you should know better than anyone else that your mic could be hot between takes.

I liked the intimacy of their relationship. It made the explicit scenes seem more intimate than spicy, which is something that I quite liked.

Boring. The Characters were barely explored, the cooking competition aspect was barely explored, the romance was just another bland instalove story with no real depth. However, it was a quick read, even if it was wholly forgetable.

Rounded up to 4 stars! I really liked the non-binary & bisexual leads & the fact that it was an adult romance set in a cooking show competition! I was pumped for a queer great British baking show book!
