This review is mostly in response to other reviews. This book is absolutely full of cliches and tropes, but what book isnt. It has good characters, a solid (although somewhat predictable) plot and an over the top villian, but it doesnt take itself too seriously. This book is not profound, it does not discuss new ideas or challenge the status quo. It does however, keep a reader entertained and that is really the point. Most of all, the narration in this is absolutely stellar, and brought this book to a new level for me. I would hire whoever it was to do my book if I ever make one. Under normal circumstances, I would have given this a 4. But I feel the other reviews are harsher than needed, so im making it a 4.5. (.5 deducted for a convenient, loop-holy scene near the end).
