YO, THERE IS AN AROACE CHARACTER WITH RESTING BITCH FACE

Ok, surprisingly I don't have particularly strong feelings about the book?? Probably because right before this I read another jock/nerd romance. But this one has more things I like. I don't know, I probably should read romance only once in a while or else I get indifferent towards the books. This feels like 3 stars but I added extra star for Ray, not gonna lie.

And to be honest there's another book that is "my best friend's sibling/my sibling's best friend" trope that has the exact same plot but written better and I couldn't stop compare the two? Plus, the whole deal of the romance genre is the pattern, so. There is only so much my aroace ass can take.

I have seen this author duo frequently in M/M bookstagram and booktube circles and their bookd were highly recommended. I've read Finley prior this book and I've rated "Unwritten Law" a fairly decent average star. I was hoping that this one will be much better but sadly, it wasn't.

I can't properly place what has gone wrong but ut has got to do with the writing. There wasn't anything special with the prose, the dialogues were cookie-cutter, the characters complete embodiment of stereotypes. Classic jock and nerd. BLAH. The writing wasn't bad per se, it was just bland. I'm only 12% in but I have no desire picking up this book after I put it down. So I decided to stop before I gave this a much more lower rating.
