1st in the Pretty Liars Duology with lots of trigger warnings -- a MFMMMM (1 F and 5 Ms) makes for super spicy scenes

What I liked: Super fast-paced storyline with tortured but funny characters, putting a scifi spin on the Why Choice/Reverse Harem trope
What I didn't like: Insta bonding or deep-seated love/loyalty of the characters (it was hard for me to lose myself in the book because of the insta bonding)

2 ⭐️/5… I really wanted to like this but it fell off for me. The beginning was fast paced but so was the romance. Unfortunately, I’m not really in to instalove. The plot was good starting out but then once the smut started, the plot slowed too much to where I was uninterested. LOVED the smut, especially a why-choose. I loved Nova’s character in the beginning but I felt as though her badass skills started lacking later. I don’t really like it when authors hype of characters just for them to lack or disappoint.

I like the plot line of the book. Nova is a bad ass and I loved seeing her fighter her way though finding her fathers research and destroying it. I really liked the found family aspect of the book. Each of the men was endearing in his own way. My favorite was Nico. Some times I found it hard to keep the men straight while reading. I did enjoy Reverse Harem/Why Choose aspect to a degree. Overall I felt that some of the sex scenes were repetitive and there were some parts that were completely not for me. Such as the shampoo bottle IYKYK.

This book is everything I love about K.A. Knight. All of her books are incredible and this one is no different.

Nova is an experiment. A lethal weapon created by her father through years of horrific abuse. When she hears news of his death she feels free. Finally. That is until she finds out that his experiments are still being performed and there are other children still alive. Now she has to stop his work once and for all.

Ends on a cliffhanger

“We look like the Care Bear version of an assassin squad”

I am obsessed. KA Knight once again delivered a steamy dark romance balanced with an equally dark, twisted and intriguing storyline. I was completely invested from the get go and loved being on the journey with our main character, Nova, as she faced her past traumas in the pursuit of revenge and justice. She represents a strong fierce female who is not letting her past control her. Plus, it doesn’t hurt to have 5 hotties in all black pursuing and protecting you. Give me a Nico, no wait, an Isaac. Scratch that a Louis. Honestly maybe all! KA Knight did an amazing job of letting us in to each characters story and trauma and then bringing them together for an ultimate end goal. The darkness was balanced with spice and banter making it a quick read. Plussss that twist at the end!!! I was completely engrossed in this world and can’t wait for the next book in this duet!
