The Girl from Widow Hills tells an interesting story about a girl who tries to outrun her past, but gets confronted by the very thing she never really knew she feared.

The story gets interesting as between each chapters, we are given fragments of the current or past events that help us (the reader) tie into what the story will ultimately reveal. I did not see the twist at the end and thought it was very cleverly written. Although I enjoyed the story and it kept me interested, the story lacked a "WOW" factor for me. It was not a book I will ever find myself picking back up because the story was so riveting that I had to go back and see what I might have missed by reading it again, although I would recommend it to someone else to read as a one-off.

Overall, great story, easy to follow and cleverly written, but nothing that stood out to me enough to make it memorable.

I liked this better than The Last Guest House! I had to rewind the final chapter multiple times because I thought I misunderstood. What a twist in the final chapter!

When 26-year-old Olivia wakes up in her front yard with a dead body at her feet and blood on her hands, she's more than just terrified -- she's worried her past is catching up with her. Olivia was just a little girl named Arden when she made national news when she survived three days in a sewer drain after being swept away by torrential rains while sleepwalking. Twenty years later, and still running from a past that she barely remembers even though it clearly remembers her, Olivia doesn't know what to believe or who to trust, including herself. She thought she knew everyone she kept close -- well, as close as she could considering she keeps everyone at arm's length trying to hide her past from everyone. And she thought she had her sleepwalking under control considering it hasn't happened to her since college. Waking up in her front yard with no recollection how she got there is enough to scare anyone. And it turns out she's not the only one keeping secrets or hiding their past. Olivia's whole life is about to be turned upside down, and in quintessential "crime fiction fashion": Everyone is a suspect... Even Olivia.

Thoughts: This is probably my favorite book by Megan Miranda! There are plot twists for DAYS! Chapters alternate between Olivia's present day and the search/rescue of her as 6-year-old Arden twenty years prior. And seriously, EVERYONE is a suspect! I didn't know whodunnit until the absolute very end. Granted, I try not to guess endings of books because it ruins the reading experience for me, but I honestly thought every single character could have been the killer. Every. Single. One. There were some character relationships and developments I would've liked to see developed further, but was still left satisfied by the outcome. Especially since I did not see it coming AT ALL. I wouldn't say the ending was mouth-dropping shocking, but definitely not obvious in any way, in my humble opinion. Fans of Megan Miranda will enjoy her trademark ever-evolving plot twists, and readers picking up her work for the first time will likely become new fans thanks to a plot that never stops, constantly leaving you wondering just what exactly is going on.

This is my favorite Megan Miranda book so far. This also may be her darkest - a complaint I normally have with this author is that the plot never gets dark enough, they read like light thrillers, leaving me wanting more. So this one being a little darker than normal, I really enjoyed.

I like the unreliable narrator, and I liked that she's only unreliable in one specific way, instead of her just being completely untrustworthy.

This story has a ton of twists. Some of them were predictable for me, but I still enjoyed them even when I saw them coming. Overall, a pretty good thriller.

Megan Miranda's novels have all been great premises with sort of meh endings. I keep reading her as I do enjoy her ideas and writing. Also, this genre in general can be annoying with endings. They can be either implausible, rushed or too open-ended. If you need a good beach read, this is a great book for that. You enjoy it while you read, but it doesn't real stick in your head for long.

I enjoyed this, quite a lot of red herrings and plot twists that worked well mostly. The pacing was enjoyable for the majority of the book but perhaps a little slow at the start and a little rushed right at the end.

Another winner by Megan Miranda. This started off with a slower pace but it was interesting enough to keep me interested in the unfolding mystery. The last 100 pages were fast and exciting and I’d recommend this to anyone who enjoys mystery/thriller novels!

This book was such a wild, rollercoaster ride. I loved it much more than the other Megan Miranda books I’ve read.

I don’t want to give too much away, but I’m predicting this will be a hot summer thriller that many book clubs, famous and small, will clamor for.
