This books was good, but not great.
It has everything that makes me happy in a book: mythological beings, curses and weird dolls. Still, overall is not my favorite.
Some words and expressions are very difficult to understand for someone who doesn't speak english as birth language (but that's okay, because we learn more this way).
Now, what I found really unsettling, was the sexualization of the girls. If Richard looks at these girls like his own daughters or, at least, the daughters that he might have had with his late wife, why is he constantly looking at their bodies shapes and comparing them to his wife? I found that very werid and creepy.
It's a nice book, but not a memorable one.

Just finished reading ‘Darkling's Cove - A Story of Betrayal’ by Jean Lowe Carlson
Darkling's Cove is a lovely fable. I was drawn in, tumbled about and finally washed up to lie in the sun on warm sand. Thank you, Ms. Carlson, for this story!
