Percy is just so young.. I hope that it gets better once he's older.

I read this book on the advice of a friend, who admittedly, reads a lot of bad books. The characters are whiny, the writing is terrible, simple, and in some places wrong, and it's just overall a sad little book. Oh well. I'd have been better off reading Harry Potter again.

What a refreshing trip to memory lane :> I really loved reading about Camp Half-Blood again and after 9 years, I still vividly remember the plot progression. I think this is mostly because I read this series (and the House of Olympus!) growing up every year and really waiting for the release dates! This was the first fantasy series I've ever read and even if the current me have a far different taste now in books, I still acknowledge how important and instrumental this series is for me. Thanks to Percy Jackson, I was introduced to amazing friends in high school! Learning about the news on the adaptation (finally!) after so many years of nostalgia tweeting XD the 13-year-old me will finally get to see her beloved stories breathe to life. Books really are our solace and I'm just incredibly happy and grateful for this!!!

Definitely a tonal shift coming off Iron Prince and Fourth Wing as far as magical schools go but this was good times. I'm interested to see how the series progresses because so many people I know dig it.
