There were so many lovely things about this book and I enjoyed the writing, the characters ... it was funny and witty.. I loved the names of the various stewards, the banter ...

What I absolutely loathed was the heroine's fixation with becoming pregnant, though. It made the otherwise well-written love scenes seem quite unromantic to be honest. While I realise it was subverting the norm where the man regards the woman as a babymaking machine ... it really didn't inspire me to like Cassie very much ... I would have rated the novel much higher if she wasn't so obsessed with becoming impregnated to the point of almost seeing a little unbalanced/unhinged about it ... Such a shame because everything else was rather delightful.

a slow burn that is so worth it!

it was interesting to see Cassandra and Joshua care for each other in their own ways, how they both eventually grow together as a couple and as a person. and the banter was hilarious! 😆

It was cute, very good slow burn and their love for each other was so deep and pure. They stressed me out when they couldn’t communicate correctly and kept creating problems that were unnecessary but i still liked it

Yes yes yesssss. SO good. I've been in a bit of a book drought and this precisely what I needed. I devoured it in a day. All of the showing, none of the annoying telling (which is a pet peeve of mine). I really lost myself in this story and cared about all the characters. The development was perfectly paced. Lot's of dialogue and getting to know each other over time. There was some angst, but it was artfully done and made the HEA that much sweeter once it arrived. None of this willful miscommunication that makes you want to pull your hair out. The ending wasn't rushed and I felt very satisfied when it all came together. Don't hesitate, go read this. It's lovely. Can't wait to pick up Mia Vincy's other books!

The banter is hilarious, the characters are so real and complex and believable, the romance is both heart breaking and beautiful, and the spice is very well done.
