A fun read-aloud! All the animals are afraid that fat cat will sit on them - only to be VERY relieved when he chooses to site elsewhere. Once he's sitting, well now they have to worry about what he will eat!

Fat Cat wants to sit down, but what (or who) will Fat Cat sit on?
Great mystery and anticipation for readers (and listeners)! Animal identification can also be a story stretcher for this book.
Theme: Jan Thomas
Additional themes: sitting, cat
Reviewed from a library copy.

One if my favorite storytime books, a short but fun romp with incredibly fun pictures.

Simple but fun. Cute illustrations. Had a few sound effects, which were popular with the little one.

Not my favourite Jan Thomas, but very worthwhile in an utterly hilarious way!

got this off a read-aloud hit list. cute and funny, but I can't get past "fat" cat. if you replaced "cat" with "kid", the book would be horribly offensive. I just don't feel comfortable sharing it with kids.

Loved this little book. Fat Cat goes around wondering what he can sit on. The cow? The chicken? I love how the other animals react. Moo? Cluck? When Fat Cat wants to sit on the dog, he growls.
Now what will Fat Cat have for lunch?

Simple bold illustrations tell the story of a fat cat who terrifies the other animals by threatening to sit on them. Great for young readers and those learning animals sounds.

A cute an humorous book about things we sit on. Or shouldn’t sit on.
