I enjoyed the beachy feel of this summer novel set on Cape Cod. I enjoyed Daphne but the plot, especially as the mystery unfolded, did not feel as organic as I would have liked it to be. This was reminiscent of The Perfect Couple by Elin Hilderbrand, so if you loved that then definitely read this!

Jennifer Weiner does is again. I loved this book. It has mystery, romance, friendship, and so much more. It was the perfect book while quarantined at home.

There’s a big surprise plot twist about a third of the way through and I was HERE. FOR. IT. I also loved the rich sense of place at the beach. It made me want to visit Cape Cod.

I really enjoyed this story! I went into this one pretty blind so I was excited for the unexpected twists and turns this book brought. There is rep for plus sized women which I love. We got to deep dive into some of the stigma associated with being overweight as well as some of the deeper emotional self-loathing. This story really explores friendship, family values, and the ever so popular social media accounts that we are all obsessed with. Definetly an enjoyable read with some thought provoking topics.

This was my first Jennifer Weiner book and I definitely expected more. The main character felt try hard (from a development/writing standpoint), which was disappointing because I liked her at first. The story line felt both sloppy and lazy and a little bit like it couldn’t decide what it wanted to be. I was into the first half, but then it suddenly became a kind of murder mystery (?). Normally I don’t mind when a book blurs the line of genres, but this just wasn’t done well. The shift totally lost me and I spent the rest of the book annoyed and waiting to be finished.
