I've gotta say, I can see why people love this book's couple!
Salukh and Tiffany are so cute together. Salukh being patient and slow with Tiffany, letting her take the lead and meeting her where is most comfortable with at the moment, giving her the space she needs. His understanding of her trauma and willingness to put her pleasure before his.

I loved this couple. Salukh is so sweet and patient. Tiffany was r@ped by the bad aliens before landing on Not-Hoth, so she has trauma she needs to work through. I appreciated that it took time for her to get used to Salukh, and that her trauma wasn't just immediately gone (which has seemed to happen in other books I've read with heroines who were r@ped).

I was a little surprised that this book seemed to jump over the stories of many other women finding their mates. Others are mentioned, and I assume we'll get to their books eventually. The jumping around in time just threw me a bit as well as the chapters with Josie. I know her book is next, and I just didn't expect her to have chapters in this one.

I really think that so far in the series, Tiffany has had one of the most compelling stories, and that this stands out. I also think that as a character, Salukh is both an ideal friend and partner to her and holds his love for her quietly and patiently until he know she might feel the same and be ready to see if they might have something.

Overall, this was very cute and dealt with heavier topics than the previous novels but that worked very well in their favor.

I really love Salukh and Tiffany. I love how Salukh respects Tiffany's boundaries and doesn't push her like the other unmated hunters do. It really shows that he actually cares about Tiffany as a person and not as some prize he has to win. I really didn't like the way the other unmated hunters treated Tiffany and how violent they become towards each other when they don't receive the reaction from Tiffany they want.

With Salukh it's different. Even before Tiffany let's Salukh know what happened to her to cause her bad reactions around the alien men he never pushed her to be with him, he showed compassion and empathy and understood that Tiffany needed more care. And I like how when he does find out what happened to her he protects her from the other guys.

I also really liked be the way that Tiffany and Salukh finally resonate to each other. I love that they get to choose each other before they even know whether they'll be actual mates.

I really enjoy it when the couples get to choose who they want before the actual resonating happens. I feel like it gives the characters more of a chance to connect and bond. And this book gives us that.

Overall this was a really great book in the series. And another one that I'd recommend looking up the trigger warnings for.

listened to audiobook and the poor voice actors have run out of voices long ago...

i just was personally not interested in this love plot (rape victim working through that to trust someone with intimacy again)
ruby writes sexual violence with such tone-deafness that it makes anything involving that so rough to read.

“I’ve had sex, both willingly and unwillingly” - Tiffany

horrific way to word that.
