I honestly had way higher hopes for this book. It felt like it was trying to be existential and surrealist but despite its great effort, it just came off as cringy and I was very close to dnf’ing it. Certain paragraphs within the book were graphic for no clear reason and it just made me squirm. If you like hidden meaning books, this might suit you but I particularly did not enjoy it! Her descriptions of mental illness also come off as very “looked it up on google and wrote it down” and they felt very misrepresented.

I mulled this over, and I think this is one almost deserving of a five star. It’s cerebral, and can take some time to digest in parts. But I couldn’t put it down for long at all.

It’s a very reflective, and funny, story. Although I was in suspense for most of her journey! I think the prose is beautiful. I’m not sure how to describe this book in a few words. It’s different, that’s for sure.
