Certainly much better than the second book but still nowhere near as good as the first. I think this is general proof that all concepts can get tiresome if they're stretched out enough.

With that said, this has a lot of the fun stuff that made the first book so much fun with none of the downer cancer bullshit from the second book. I won't be praising anything the same way I did The Boss, but this had a lot of the same wish fulfillment stuff going on, which was nice to have back around.

The drama with Holly and Daija (Deja? I don't know, I'm on audiobook, cut me some slack) was really funny to me. I couldn't stop laughing at the forced tension. Also the forced tension with Neil not wanting to set a date for the wedding as well as his reasons for not wanting to set a date was all also genuinely kind of funny because it seemed so inconsequential to me.

Anyway, I still have a few days to kill so I may do the fourth book, too, but we'll see. Either way, it's almost time for October and I'm hella ready for all the wonderful new releases so, no matter what, I'll see you guys on Tuesday, when the best release month ever begins.

Better than book 2 but...

I don't know what it is with this series. Book one was great and left me wanting more. Book 2 was very serious and depressing. This book, although much lighter still left a lot to be desired. I will read book four just to see how it ends but I hope it has a better aftertaste than the others.

Took me almost two months to read this because I lost interest. I couldn't tell you if it was me or the book but it became time to part ways.

Rounded up to 4 stars. This was my favorite of the series. It was so good to see some development in the characters and not be going in circles.

Je ne le lis que parce que je n'aime pas laisser une serie inachevée mais ca a été une épreuve. Les trois quart du livre sont consacre au cul et à la façon qu'à Sophie de s'habiller/maquiller/préparer.... Boring

I always curious how Neil and Sophie's journey together as a lover and also as a Dom/ sub. In Girlfriend, they deal with Neil's sickness. Now in The Bride, we get a glimpse of their journey to become husband and wife. As a fiance.

The BDSM part is hot as usual. What I do like the best is how the author addresses the issue between Neil and Sophie such as their age difference, their social status, how Sophie adjusting her life to become trophy wife, the acceptance of their family for who they are. I do admire Sophie where she stays true to herself. She navigates the difficulty from nobody into somebody. I also love how Neil and Sophie love journey becomes in sync.

I do enjoy this series very much.
