After the adventures of book one, this book plunges us into action and suspense. The Enchiridion has been taken and Dax and his friends are in bad shape. In order to protect himself and those he loves, he must be the one to go and retrieve the book…no matter what the cost.

This book moved along faster than the first installment with action happening in just about every chapter. I felt as if we really got to know our characters in ways that we didn’t before. If you’re a fan of fast paced fantasy, this is definitely the series for you.

Great next story

Simmons pens a great story in The Jracon's Oath, which is the next book in the The Odonata Chronicles (TBC) series. I read the one that came before it and was honored to read this one as well. Simmons tells a great story, and it's a very unique one, at that. Dax is yet again struggling, and is on a new journey. It's filled with action, magic, and definite faith in the future. I could see the growth of the characters, and even the growth of the author's writing in this story. It's a great story, and a tumultuous journey the characters must follow. I look forward to reading more by this author, not only with this series, but any other stories as well.
