I received an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review. Review and release blitz can be found on *Milky Way of Books*

The anticipating spin-off series to the North Security series is here! I knew that Josh and Bethany would get their own story and I'm glad they did! I didn't know that they shared a common past and that this past would haunt them both. The story moved steadily through past and present and the chemistry between them was amazing!

“I’ll let you in on a little secret. You think I’m the devil, but I’m human to the core.” “I don’t believe it.” Her hold under my palm, her curves against my bones. “I’ve had feelings.” The admission seem almost ridiculous to simplicity. “I wasn’t always a cold bastard. No- I was a cold bastard. Just not this cold.”

I saw this book come across my newsfeed a couple times and the summary instantly caught my attention. I’ve read some books by Skye Warren but it’s been awhile. This book doesn’t disappoint at all. This book had me intrigued from the beginning. I had to find out what kind of a guy Josh was. Is really the douchey guy he gives off?! Y’all will just have to read the book to find out. I also love how Bethany despite not having a lot never just gives up and sells herself short. She has had a shitty past and keeps pushing forward. The ending

I wanted to like this book and I’ve read this author before but once again, her book is lacking something for me.

The heroine is a talented ballerina with a criminal brother whose life is affected by her bro and his pals. The hero is a semi tortured mercenary guy who was around five years ago and is now back because the heroine has a stalker.

The story jumps back and forth between five years previous and present day. There are cameos from the hero of the other book.

So why wasn’t it ... good? Well... it fell flat for me. I didn’t like the hero. He didn’t convince me that he ... loved her or that he changed. He treats her horribly after they are together to delay their ‘love’ moment for after the stalker which is so cliche. He doesn’t grovel properly, frankly and isn’t redeemed by his apology, I didn’t think.

The heroine ... was kind of two dimensional to me. She doesn’t have a voice that stands out or sticks with you. She’s very talented but gets pushed around by all the guys in the book.

It was readable and fairly well written... I just didn’t like it.

“Forgiveness isn’t really a decision. It’s threaded with love and trust.”
A story of second chance at a lost love after five years apart . It’s well written and I’ve read it in one sitting as it’s captivating.

I don't even know how to put into words just how much I loved this book. I have been a massive Skye Warren fan for some time now, and with each book she writes, the more I fall in love with her. She has the ability to grab your attention from the moment you open the book and have your jaw hitting the floor over and over and she did just that with Audition.

This book can be read as a standalone with no worries at all, but in my opinion, I think it's best if you read the North Security series. You will get a better understanding of who the characters are and what

As I said, I am a massive Skye fan, so I knew going into this, it would be amazing. However, I didn't expect it to consume me beyond belief. I was obsessed, fixated on these characters since they were introduced into the last series Skye wrote so when I got my hands on this bad boy, I devoured each and every word.

These two were hot and cold in Samantha's story, push and pull thing going on, so automatically I thought that's what the book would be like... Well, Jesus, I was wrong. Firstly, these two have history, a whole lot of it, and it spans out over five years. There are lies and secrets that they've kept hiding so well, from everyone... Then you add on their pasts. Full of pain and tragedy and that pain and tragedy is so similar to each other, it's heartbreaking and beautiful in one... In North Security series I didn't would work, let alone did I think they had some kind of part but there is something that pulls them together, something that the connection between them only strengthens over time and the chemistry was off the charts.

It was such an enticing read, and as always Ms. Warren's words were flawless and flowed with ease and I found myself completely captivated by this story and these characters. I couldn't put it down and I didn't.

5 Stars!

Josh and Bethany story is one I was intrigued, now we got it, Josh met Bethany while protecting Samantha, he broke her heart now she is on the list and Josh needs to protect her. The dark twisted stories just Skye Warren can write will take you on a new journey you don't want to stop. Amazing and phenomenal new series. Make sure you read them all.

I don’t like this format, when they go back and forth in time.

Bethany Lewis is a ballerina in the production of Olivia Twist and prides herself on living on her own, even if her apartment is tiny and she has to share a common bathroom with other tenants. Lately she has been receiving threatening letters and she is unsure if they are linked to her brother Caleb, a known criminal.

Joshua North works for North Security and grew up as a friend of Caleb's but the two drifted apart after events in the past. He will do whatever he can to protect Bethany and the first thing is to get her out of her unsafe home.

As Bethany and Joshua begun to get closer will Joshua cross the line with his "client"? Can both of them overcome their pasts to find a future together before they run out of time?

This was a really good book and I enjoyed it from start to finish.

I liked the pride that Bethany had for trying to make it on her own even though she wasn't able to afford much. Yet at the same time I felt horrible for how unsafe her place was and how dangerous it really was for her to live there. Yet she was following her passion with dancing although her boss, Landon, was such a jerk.

Joshua was much more complex as you knew he had genuine feelings for Bethany but at the same time he tried to keep a distance from her which made him a bit of a jerk. I knew he was doing his job but he really cared about her and kept pushing her away. I never knew if it was just because of his job or because of their connected past.

I had my ideas about who was behind things but I was wrong and I then understood how everything was connected. I was sad that Joshua broke Bethany's heart after everything that happened and she definitely deserved better at that moment.

I was happy that Joshua really realized what he did and how he made steps at turning everything around. I was super happy for Bethany and Marlene at the end of the book and how they followed their own dreams!

A captivating and enthralling story. It’s jd me hooked from the very beginning, until the very end.
