4.5

I have read three of Alison Weir's novels, and this one is by far my favorite! I love the unique way of storytelling. There are no chapters; the book is organized my dates and points of view. It took a while to adjust to it, and it was quite slow paced in the beginning, but it was worth it. Readers get to know Lady Jane Grey extremely well because the book begins with her birth and ends with her death. Sounds tedious, but again, it's worth it! I am a big fan of learning all about the Tudor history, so this incredibly detailed and accurate book was an amazing read for me. The ending will upset even the most stoic reader. You know it's coming, but Alison Weir makes it absolutely heartbreaking. I'd say the book is relatively medium paced, and it's definitely loaded with a lot of information and character names, so ye be warned!
