because the historical death mystery line is that

Sonja survived a concentration camp, moved to the boarding school, and ended up living in the same town as a former prison guard of the camp. Even though Sonja was not Jewish, the school dismissed her disappearance because antisemitism and BIG SPOILER: prison guard murdered her.

I like her books. Ghost mysteries sound stupid on paper but the way she does them makes them entertaining :) It wrapped up so well in a way I wasn’t necessarily expecting but one that was satisfying. Vivid imagery and solid characterization of what a girls school is like.

Also I walked into it thinking there would be copaganda but it was actually in the reverse which was crucial to liking the book.

Honestly had me on edge the whole time. And for the first time I actually felt nervous when turning off the light at night. It captured me and I think it represented trauma pretty well. But some parts just didn’t peak my interest as much. But it was a good read over all.
