I'm not sure where to start my review of Cake. I used to read a lot of New Adult, but I've been reading more Seasoned Romance and Romantic Suspense this last year. I was looking for a light listen on a Sunday and came across this one and thought why not? THIS A GREAT LISTEN. Seriously, even if New Adult is not your thing, this is a great story with excellent narration. It is not your typical rock star romance. Both lead characters are smart, the story is engrossing (the hero's backstory even more so), and not at all fluffy. That's not to say it's deep or Kleenex is required. It is, at heart, a great romance. I honestly wouldn't change a thing in the story.

3.5! Good storyline but terrible writing. Couldn't get passed the middle school writing style.

I really didn't care much for this story. Too many things that didn't really add up. If Casey is so smart then why is she in college at 23 and still has a year to go? If Jake is one of the biggest rock stars why is he flying commercial and not his own private jet? I got really tired of Casey saying how everyone just loves her and her crude humor because I found her pretty immature. I did like Jake but also felt that his back story could have been talked about better. I also didn't believe how he became a huge rock star so quickly after his kidnapping.

As I wipe tears away because this book was what I needed to make me love love again or even more than I already do. I thought maybe this would be another steamy book, which I'm engrossed in constantly now, but this, this was a masterpiece. Maybe to some people the outcome of everything might be too good to be true but to be honest I love when everything works out. No Cliffhanger, and a HEA. My heart broke for Jake but that ending <3

Casey's sarcasm and wit was on a whole other level and I freaking lived for her comebacks. Yes, the romance is cheesy as hell but trust me, you'll be grinning from ear to ear. Although it looks like a lighthearted novel, there are some sensitive subjects that are brought up. Cake: A Love Story definitely made it to my fav shelf.

This book was sweet and lovable! I had major anxiety in the beginning wondering how he was going to hurt her because she jumped in and fell for him so hard so fast. I really liked that there wasn’t a lot of games and drama. The only thing holding me back from 5 stars was the end. We had a pretty steady pace throughout and then tons of stuff was thrown at us in the end and I felt like it was forced into the last 10%. There was just too much inner dialogue throughout. I ended up skimming parts here and there to get to conversations. And I wanted more from that epilogue! Without giving anything away, let me just say I wanted more than 1 line!!

A great love story!

I was so pleased with this book, I wasn't sure what to expect. The characters were great and the story flowed wonderfully. Can't wait to see what else this author puts out!

Not your typical rock star story. The story is well done and different. I must admit that the main sex scene was a bit cringe worthy. I do plan to read the other books.
