An interesting start to a series.

Altered Helix is what I'd describe as a YA Paranormal story.

Short in length, I think I can safely say that it is a n

I would say it is more suited for teens/younger adults. A coming of age tale mixed in with an element of the supernatural.

As with other shorter stories, I felt the book to be sort of rushed, with more character development needed but I have faith that the author will begin to add more of this in subsequent books.

The concept of the story is unique, I just felt like the delivery needed a bit more maturity behind it.

Over all I think Altered Helix held my attention enough to make me want to continue with the series when they are released. It definitely has the potential to excite and entertain.

Thank you to the author for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review via Rachel's Random Resources for this blog tour. Also thank you to Reachel for inviting me to participate and allowing me a spot on this tour.

I have to say the first couple of chapters had me a bit confused at first but once the story really got started, I wasn't as confused. I was sucked into the story, and I liked the haunted house aspect. It is a little repetitive and a little too insta-love for me. It's a short quick and easy read with some twists. It's not predictable but in the end, I'm left wondering what is exactly going on. I feel like it needed to be longer because I needed more information to be fully immersed in the story. It wasn't a bad book by any means, but it also wasn't the most amazing book either, but I did enjoy my time with it.

This needs to be a full novel as opposed to novella, there’s so much to cover in so few pages and I felt like I was missing a lot of background information

Story is intriguing but I don’t think I’ll read the next novella

This was so good!! I had a hard time putting it down when I had to. But I read quickly, and not just because it was short, but it grabbed my attention from the very beginning and then I kept wanting to see what happens and what exactly was going on. I was not disappointed, and I’m really looking forward to reading the next book!!!

A beautifully intriguing beginning

It was hard to put this book down. The words flowed easily, the scenes moved quickly, and the plot was intriguing. While the author just started to scratch the surface of something much bigger in the altered helix DNA, the story of the characters working in the haunted house and developing a family with one another kept the pages turning. Being from the Kansas City area was also a treat as the author mentioned specific locations that were easy for my mind to put the characters in.

Altered Helix is a well crafted and engaging read with a highly likeable cast of characters, It is definitely better suited to being a novel rather than a novella, as it would give the author more chance to flesh out the extraordinary world they appear to have created.
