God, this book kept reminding me that I am 3 months shy of being 33 years old and sometimes teenagers are teenagers. And honestly, I don’t mind reading HS romances or watching TV shows in high school settings but this one took the cake for basically calling me “old”. I couldn’t deal. I have to give props to the author for legit making teenagers well teenagers in this book. The references, the lines, the thought process 🤣🤣🤣 we are laughing.
- The style of writing is very immature
- The dialogue and characterization of the female and male main characters was funky and not to my taste, even high schoolers can have layers and in-depth personalities. Bentley just kept going in circles, and I couldn’t even feel for him as a damaged hero
- I hated Cameron and Sydney’s dialogue - it’s like we took every teenager’s one liner and added it to their conversations
- I hate the pop references here
- Very cliché in my opinion
- I’m just not enjoying myself
