Trent'anni, analista informatico, nessuna relazione interpersonale che non sia di lavoro. Il narratore vive un'esistenza segnata dall'indifferenza e dall'apatia. C'è tanta delusione alla base del suo malessere, tanto cinismo. Rapporti che sono sempre stati vuoti e sempre lo saranno. Lui non cerca di trovarsi delle passioni perché sa che le passioni non basteranno mai. Narra quello che gli succede intorno, il freddo e il vuoto a cui assiste quotidianamente, lo fa in modo caustico, cinico, misantropo. Poco lirismo, poca raffinatezza, questa volta l'ansia e la nausea esistenziale non hanno niente di profondo e strano e proprio perché ci vengono palesate in maniera così corrosiva risultano così familiari.
