I love finding new to me authors. I signed up for the Arc of Oblivious Roommate (book 1) and was so hooked. I devour romcoms and it delivered. So, of course I NEEDED to keep going.

Straight Crush is Book 4 in the Am I The Problem series. And we finally get to Kai’s story. Levi describes him as a pocket rocket and that is so apt. Kai is a 22 year old guy who is selfless and lovable. He inherits a run down house and finds a squatter. A sexy bear of a squatter. Jake was in an accident at work and lost his leg, his job, and his girlfriend. He is a certified electrician with all kinds of general construction experience so Kai sees an opportunity. They fake date and Jake has a place to stay and can help renovate the house.

Jake is straight, until he isn’t, and learns to navigate what that means for him. I love how these two men interact with each other. Kai has a very unique outlook on life and is very positive. These two are super cute.

Devon Doe has created a fun town full of queer friendly people, adorkable couples, and a coffee shop for them all to enjoy.

This book was awesome. I loved Kai. He was so sweet right from the start. He could've been rude and mean but he chose love instead. And Jake, he took everything in stride it was even sweeter. He played his role very convincingly. I loved it. I was glad it kinda took months for them to get to a place where everything was real for both of them. I was glad for Levi. He was there for both Jake and Kai when they both screwed up. It was super sweet. This whole book was sweet. I loved Kai and Jake together so much! My favorite couple yet.

Oh, my heart!

This was such a super cute and wholesome love story!
I'm all in when it comes to self discovery, an absolute sunshine Twinkie (Kai, I'm talking about Kai), a big Bear (not the animal!) and some fake-boyfriend/only one bed scenario that gives me all the cuddles (YES PLEASE!)

Jake and Kai were both admirable!
No matter what life threw at them, both came out as such strong characters!

Even if there were some tough topics discussed, like struggling with homelessness, homophobic family (and emotional abuse), past toxic relationships, and how a sudden disability can change your life (and exclude you from society) the whole story was uplifting, hopeful, emotional, wholesome and gave me a lighthearted feeling!

I really loved the pace (medium to slow-ish) especially in hindsight that there was demisexual representation and selfexploration (bi awakening) and the relationship growth was chef's kiss!

The moments they were intimate together were hot, hot, hot as well <3

I loved to get also more amazing "found family/strong friend group" moments and the whole setting around Rainbowology is so cool, I wish I had something like this in my own life!
They were all great cameos, and Levi gave such an amazing "big bro" and support character for both MCs!

I loved that a lot was properly discussed, and issues were solved (sometimes sooner, sometimes later) but I think the key-message to communicate was definitely omnipresent, what I absolutely loved!

There's an super satisfying Epilogue as well as a super cute bonus scene (extra download) that made my heart just more swoon :D

I am so happy, that I got the opportunity to get my grabby hands on an early copy!
