The story felt rushed. I loved the characters and the storyline. I just wish there was more of it? You dont really feel invested in the charcaters until issue 4 and theres only 5 issues.

Queer and anti-monarchy/pro-democracy fantasy? Well sign me up!

Of course I actually didn't know anything when I picked this up except that I needed a graphic novel for a reading challenge and the cover was really pretty. Honestly the story is very basic and I found the art to be competent but not impressive nor really my aesthetic taste. It was still a nice quick read and might be a good pick for younger readers (middle grade and early YA).

I liked the background characters and scenery. Story was a little meh, but it had a few intersecting bits to it.

Side characters were way better than the main ones.

A story about a badass Princess who doesn’t let anyone tell her what to do? I’m in.

The story follows Misty as she tries to do what’s right for her kingdom and ends up getting taken to a rival kingdom. As she tries to flee for her safety she realizes she’s not the only one in danger.

She learns what friendship is and how to think of others as just as important as herself. The variety of characters is fun and refreshing. It was a wonderful story, but some things she did felt too forced.

“The future is a landscape as well, and we can build whatever we like there.”

I get where this story was trying to go and the message it was trying to broadcast, but it was about as subtle as a brick through a windshield. Also, why only flesh out Misty's characters and none of the secondary characters (who I found way more interesting)? Some of them just seemed kinda.. one dimensional for a book with feminist packaging.
