Kim! Honestly, throughout Elsa and Aiden's book, I was curious about what was happening with Kim and Xander. The books kept making little remarks about their history, and we know Kim grew up with the guys, but we never really delve that deep into things. But this one starts off really strong because we quickly learn just how rough Kim's life has been and the emotional trauma she's been forced to deal with due to how her mother treats her. She even threatens her through her baby brother, and it's just terrible. We knew in the previous books that her parents weren't around that much, but I never realized how bad it was until this one. Plus, the big reveal of this book would involve her brother being like her half-sibling and Xan's. Still, it ends up going down an even crazier path. On the other hand, Xan has been holding onto that secret for a very long time, and that's why he was so terrible to her suddenly. I wish we had more groveling from him because he did awful things to her, and she accepts it and moves on a little too fast. Same with the ending; it wraps up a bit too soon. I wish we had more time to work on everything after it's revealed.

Again, this is a big step up from the last 4 books of this series. I didn’t really like cruel/Deviant king and Steel princess. But twisted kingdom and this book was so much better.

Yall don’t know how impatiently I’ve waited for this book. Ever since deviant king, Xander and Kimberly stood out, even more than Elsa and Aiden tbh. I really wanted to know about this ongoing tension between them and why Kimberly kept asking for forgiveness. Now that I know the reason, I’m just thinking that my poor girl suffered for no reason. Although I know the real reason he resented her all these years, it doesn’t make up for everything he did and how it hurt Kim. Also the fact that she was thinking that it was because of a stupid little prank.😭

This is the first book from the Royal Elite series where I cried so much. Kimberly deserved the world and reading that part about her suicide hurt so much. I was just cursing Xander and her mother under my breath for pushing her till that point. He literally said “why don’t you disappear”😭😭 that hurt me and Its in a book, imagine hearing those words from your once best friend who you loved and relied on more than anyone.

Every time Xander would say stuff like “know your f*cking place” and “you disgust me”, I lost it. Not to mention, that he repeated it so many times. That made me hate him to the point that I was rooting for Kimberly to move on and I was like Xander doesn’t deserve her. After they finally got together, he was like “finally I can have you after so many years of yearning”, I was just thinking to myself, - okay… and? You’re not suddenly a saint. What did you do apart from adding reasons for Kim to commit suicide? Then he drops a bomb which made me melt right there, right then:

“Even when you were with others?”
“What others?” He brushes his lips against mine. “You’re my first, Green.”

He was saving himself for her even though he pretty much knew that they can never be together 😭😭 it doesn’t make up for all the trauma he caused Kim over the years but at least we know that he was being genuine about only wanting Kimberly.

Okay lastly, coming to Ronan and Kimberly. I loved them both together and separately. Although I haven’t finished the series yet, I know for a fact that my fave male character will be Ronan and Female will most likely be Kimberly. They’re both sunshine’s and need to be protected at all costs.

I’m so excited for Ronans book, I’ve eaten up every chapter he’s been in so far. So having a whole book of him is just a blessing😩🤌

Can we get a book for Kir please?! He is so goddamn cute! I enjoy this book but I think it could be done better. Until page 160 the story is primarily focused on bullying, child neglect, and Kim’s mental issues such as eating disorders and suicidal tendencies. There were couple of scenes that involves push and pull which built up the tension between Xander and Kim but somehow I just could get into it. If we keep that portion down to 70-100 pages maybe the pace would be better. Once after Kim tried to unlive herself, everything was put under the spotlight and Xander decided to tell the truth after holding it for 7 years. (Honestly boy even if you don’t think you can be with her you don’t have to bully her for 7 years). It happened way too fast I felt like most of the content of the book were packed into the last 50% while it could be evenly distributed.

Heat: 🔥🔥-🔥🔥🔥

very big check the TWs for this book!

okay so I love dark romances and I love angst and this did it SOOOO WELL omfg when Kimberly
slit her wrists
and Xander
is the first to find her bc of her text
OOOOH I ATE THAT SHIT UP!!!!!! literally perfect to me omfg that is just PEAK angst. I wish more of these dark/bully romances would go down that path bc I think it makes the redemption so much sweeter and if that makes me a bit fucked in the head, so be it!

also big lmao at another romance story where the characters believe
they’re siblings
for maybe one chapter before the author is like LOL GOTCHA! JK JK JK JK! they really never let that one linger 😂

Gosh — I devoured this book!

I wasn’t a big fan of Xander’s character in the beginning of the series — so I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about him in “Black Knight” — but after finishing it I think it’s become my favorite book in the series (so far)!

I felt as though Kim and Xander’s plot was more believable than Aiden and Elsa’s — which I personally enjoyed — and I ultimately just love that Xander waited for Kim.

(Some of the other men in the series that have also claimed to have loved their LIs “for years” are hypocritical and cannot relate.)
