Short, but good read. Ending was blah.

Such a good short story! I was captivated - the twists and turns were really good, always kept me guessing and never expected the big twist. Would highly recommend!

I enjoyed this short story. It wasn't completely unpredictable but it stayed interesting regardless.

have i already mentioned that i hate feeling conflicted about books? it's so much easier when you just simply like or dislike it, but a mix of both is just awfully annoying to decipher.
the fact is following: i hate ella's decision of having an affair with chloe. i hate that ella thinks she can right his wrong by doing a wrong herself, i hate that ella excuses infidelity so easily after she felt so crushed by finding out mac cheated on her first. i hate how easily she just threw it all away.

on the other end, i'm highly amused and entertained by the fact that both of them just get back together normally at the end: ella by wanting to keep this a secret, and mac by being scared of snitching on himself. it's funny that, in a way, this has brought them closer together.

it reminded me a little bit of chloe - not entirely the same, but i can definitely see the influences gotten from it.

ugh, i hate it and at the same time it was interesting to read. take me away. i hate having to decide on a feeling like that (ノ_<。)

A tightly plotted little short story about infidelity among beautiful, rich, privileged folks. It’s very pat and smugly amoral. The only overtly ethical voice is pigeonholed as hypocritical and judgmental, and in need of a lesson in humility.

Guys…this was only 49 pages! I'm not usually a fan of short novels like this because I feel like the stories are rushed but this was just such a delicious read. I don't know what this says about me, but I really enjoyed the sick twist of poetic justice that came at the end! *Chefs Kiss*

You can find this book on Kindle Unlimited & it's part of Getaway, a collection of six stories about dream escapes that take unimaginable, even sinister, turns. I'm definitely going to be checking out the next one in the series!
