One of the best books I've ever read. Definitely gonna buy it, one of my favorites!! Like read it!!! I promise you will not regret it! I even have the last bit of dialogue from this book memorized because it's so good and I recommend it to everyone I know.

I read a lot of dark thrillers and this one made me incredibly uncomfortable. Even though I read the trigger warnings before starting - or maybe I missed some - there were topics that came up that I was not prepared for.

I had to take breaks and keep reminding myself that it is just a book. The subject matter is unsettling and the amount in which Jack tortures Grace both physically, mentally and psychologically as well as his promises for the future involving Grace's family ... It was a lot

Overall it did keep me on edge which is the point and I was impressed with the ending. Definitely worth a read if you are into dark thrillers - but again - read the trigger warnings beforehand.

🇬🇧: een good and fast paced book. The book was fast paced. It didn't have any hard to understand words in it and you finnishel it in no time. The book gave me the same vibes as "the housemaid" of Freida McFadden but without a plot. The book was very predictably and you know immediately who the bad guys was and nothing unexpected happend. The nice part were the now and past views. That way the book got a little bit more dept. So a fast paced book with a good story line, but it could contain more dept.

i liked this as someone who doesn’t read a lot of domestic thrillers, but not sure someone who does would enjoy it as much

i wish esther had somehow been a bigger part of the story, that she HAD gotten a message to grace in the book somehow. it seems weird that she just immediately knows there’s something wrong when she’s only met grace a couple of times.

I really liked this book. The ending was magnificent, Esther being the light at the end of the tunnel for Grace was wonderfully done. I also felt that the author did a great job at building the tension by going back and forth between past and present to end up at the main event. I enjoyed the fast pace of this book, and how realistic it was in terms of women in controlling relationships. Enjoyed this one quite a bit.
