I was more into this graphic novel than the other Heartstoppers because it's my first time reading one after watching the show, which isn't covered by the show. I'm looking forward to seeing this covered by the show. This is a summertime volume; the gang goes to Paris for a school trip, then our leads are separated as they go on separate family vacations. The novel does an excellent job of humorously but also tenderly showing the trials and tribulations of attempting to have fun while actually just wanting to text your partner back home.

Nick and Charlie's relationship is rock solid at this point, so their will-they won't-they is no longer the focus, leaving room some more serious topics around mental health. Charlie struggles with disordered eating, while Nick struggles with how to help him. I think this book does a good job of separating the concepts of caring for someone who is having mental health problems, and being able to fix it. It never subscribes to or glamorizes that idea that a relationship can fix Charlie, but it also shows how Nick's support is valuable to him.

Stray observations: Both Nick and Charlie turn out to speak a second language fluently. It feels like a bit of a retcon somehow.
