“I always love seeing what worries you. Strigoi? No. Questionable food? Yes.”

No matter how many times I read this book it never gets old. It has the kind of ending that you just need sometimes. Where everything just sort of worked out pretty well (for the protagoninsts). I also realised I forgot to write a review for this one. Shame on me. So here I go.
The Plot:
I do love the old I-broke-up-with-my-ex-that-I-still-love-but-we-have-to-be-in-close-quarters-together-for-a-long-period-of-time. It always turns out exactly the way I want. There were several plot twists that I really didn't see coming, like Jill being an illegitimate Dragomir, or Rose getting shot, or Tasha being a murderer and framing Rose just to get Dimitri. There were just sooo many shocking moments. My brain just kept

how this book managed to be soooo boring yet introduce the most interesting concepts and characters is insane to me. its also crazy how little mead has developed writing wise throughout these 6 books.

Thank God this series is over. Rose is honestly the worst heroine I've ever read about. I wanted to finish off the series and had some hopes that it would get better, but the lead is just SO unlikeable. Also, not a fan of cheating. I really felt for Adrian and you could see how this would progress from a mile away, but ugh. Rose is just a terrible Mary Sue character, nothing really goes wrong for her she doesn't really have any "flaws" -- everyone just loves her and wants to be with her and..no.
I only really cared about the side characters in this series -- Lissa, Christian, and Adrian. They were at least good and interesting.
Also, the "twist" on the killer at the end? Seriously? The last few chapters were so rushed...this entire series was a slog and then at the end boomboomboom.
Good riddance.

Way to wrap things up! It was nice to feel Rose's story coming to an end. I feel like I have the closure I need. I hope that Richelle Mead continues to write stories, maybe focusing on some of the other characters (Adrian? Eddie?). I will be recommending these books to all who love Twilight!

Giving it 3 stars only because I’ve decided not to be an asshole today

Pretty decent ending to the series, although not my most favorite book out of all of them. Still quite a bit of unresolved conflict and I'm not sure how much of that is addressed in the Bloodlines series.

I'm really sad that it's over now. All the characters have captured a piece of my heart. I just love everything about the series: the characters, story lines, writing style, world building. The only reason the books didn't get 5 stars is because there are too many moments when Richelle Mead repeats things that have happened in previous books. I like it when an author does that but to me these books had too much. But everything else about these books is amazing!

The series is good. I didn’t like the ending, but that’s a me problem.

You have this great big bang in the end of book 5 right? Rose gets accused of killing the Queen then Dimitri comes back from being a killer It was a wow kind of book.
Ok so here's what I thought about book6 first half..... Boring I mean don't don't get me wrong I enjoyed my fav. girl Rose with her smart ass mouth comments and the trip to the wilderness was entertaing a lot but of the book just seemed like fill-ins to. I found myself skimming a lot. I got bored I even fell asleep on it at one point. I missed the fun banter between Rose and Dimitri, I didn't feel the connection anymore and when she switched into Lissa mine I couldn't wait for het to get out I was that bored with it....
Second half.... Finally the book began for me the action was amazing the connection between Dimitri and Rose was back on track I loved it the twist and turns of who actually killed the queen was fun very surprising I sooo didn't see that coming. But in the end I was sad I think she could have ended things with Adrian better that was so messed up what happen to him. and then Sydney there is definitely room for more to this series with the other characters No more Rose and Lissa though I just about had enough of them and their rollercoster ride. I mean honestly she could have just added from page 400 to the rest of book 5 and ended then....
Heres my couple Happy reading

I'm not really sure how I feel about this as a conclusion to a series. There were some things that I loved and others that were lackluster. The majority of the book felt a little slow moving for me because I was just waiting for these big moments to happen. At the same time though, the later portion of the book was keeping me on the edge of my seat.
One thing that did happen for me though was I finally felt like I could get behind Dimitri and Rose. Ugh there was this beautiful scene of the two of them in a hotel room. They actually talked about their feelings and had some real relationship building blocks laid down. It was what I had been wanting from them this whole series. They're supposed to be madly in love, but they don't share a lot of intimate moments together. It's very much a tell and not show situation, but this scene. This scene I loved and I was finally rooting for them.
With that said, I found the trials Lissa went through to be very reminiscent of something from Divergent. She basically went through a fear landscape, and it was very odd and seemed sort of out of place. I felt like the trials could have been handled better and better developed. They seemed very random for what they were testing.
I also didn't like how Adrian was left at the end of this book. The last time we see him he's storming off in an cloud of anger and resentment. His character had no closure. If I had read this at the time of publication, without the knowledge of Bloodlines, this would have pissed me off. I like Adrian. I want him to have resolution, and we don't see that in this series.
Basically as a next installment in a series, I enjoyed this book. It was action packed and mysterious and intense. However as a series finale, I thought it was lackluster. A lot of characters (that coincidentally show up in Bloodlines) get dropped off or are left unresolved by the end. A huge air of mystery is left around Sydney and the Alchemists too. If I had not known that I would see more of this in Bloodlines, if I did not know I would get another 6 books with these characters, I would have been very unhappy with this finale.
But as a sixth book in a 12 book series, I thought it was a fantastic installment.
