It was interesting to learn about the life Katie Davis has found in Uganda, but the book seemed quite repetitive. There was also a lot of telling and not much showing. It didn't really paint as descriptive of a picture of life in Africa as I thought it would. I also thought it was a bit odd that she would leave these children right after adopting them and return to the US for a while - leaving the kids behind.

However, I do appreciate what she has done with her life. She is truly giving her all.

Interesting story but hard to believe it is true. Just like the old saying, "if it sounds too good to be true it probably isn't true". Katie was too perfect, always had enough money to feed and clothe 13 girls, enough money to travel back and forth to the U.S., etc.
