Keeper of Scarlet Petals was a fun read. A school of magic, attempted murder… what’s not to like? The characters are likable (even if a bit basic at times), the magic system is unique and interesting. The romantic interest is a bit predictable as are some other elements of the story, but no more than most YA novels. This books mostly reads as YA, but the language and spice put into NA.

I’m excited to see how the story continues to develop. I’m giving this a 3 because that’s what I give books I enjoy, but am not obsessed with. Would definitely recommend!
