While I'm sure there are some good tips in this book, I didn't catch any because was distracted.

Nah, I'm just joking, but I had to make that pun. But in all seriousness, I am not the target audience for this book. The author obviously doesn't take ADHD into account, which is obviously a rather large hurdle when it comes to distractions. Unfortunately, my problems go a bit further than most others. So while some find this book "cures" their distraction, my cure is, well, Ritalin.

I told myself I was done reading these types of books because I've read so much I'm no longer learning anything new. This book proved me wrong.

While the second half was all old news to me, I really appreciated the part on will power presented as an emotion rather than a finite resource. Worth a listen just for that.

Some insightful ideas spread across too many words.

This was a good book, just not aimed at me, someone who has already implemented a lot of the suggestions outlined within. Some of the internal triggers solutions we too vague to be put into practice, and I'm not sold on scheduling every moment (waking AND sleeping) of my day. I did put some of the advice to use though, especially the distraction tracker and the scheduling of the work day.

Has some good advice. Good thing it had a summary at the end of the chapter. I was able to skip some chapters thanks to that.

Nothing new in the book though, but sometimes you need a book to jog your memory or just compile all the old stuff in one place for ease of reference.

I started to take timeboxing/time-blocking more seriously now. It seems to be the new rage everywhere.
