Initially I went into this book blind. I didn't really know what it was about until my friend was like "uhhh maybe you should read the synopsis."
Once I did, I wasn't sure if I wanted to continue. I'm not a reader who has triggers, I'll pretty much read anything. This novel didn't trigger me but it DEFINITELY gave me the ICK.
The author does an excellent job putting you in the mind of the female main character. This woman is a teacher who likes young men...well a VERY specific type of young man. She sets herself up to have a "prime selection" of them. The whole time I was reading this book I just couldn't stop making some of the worst faces.
This author does NOT shy away from graphic descriptions of the sex that happens in this book or the graphic thoughts that this sick individual dreams up. She definitely hits the nail on the head when it comes to how society perceives a female predator. The main character does not give 2 shits about the boys she hurts. She doesn't care what will ultimately happen to them and almost thinks she is doing them a favor. it's disgusting how little she cares other than how often she can quench her urges.
I don't feel right saying this book was great because of the subject matter BUT it definitely makes you feel many things including shock, fear and disgust. When I rate my books if it makes me feel strongly then it usually gets a higher star rating. This book is NOT going to be for everyone so be warned...do your research.
It makes you feel gross, worried and almost makes you question yourself. It also makes you think about all the women we have seen on the news in these exact situations and why they seem to get off much more easier than their male counterparts.

Honestly, I read this book as fast as possible just to get through it and be done. It was very well written but so fucked up.

Upsetting read. There are superficial comparisons to Lolita, as they breach the same subject, but this book is much more of a laborious read due to sexual content that is markedly absent from Lolita. At no moment is the reader unaware of the sub/conscious drives that inform this predator's actions. Theres no relief from the protagonists depravity, the whole book is dedicated to her chase. The reader is painfully aware against their will of her predilections (explicitly). Her actions are premeditated, calculated, and shrewd.
Graphic: Sexual assault, Sexual violence, Adult/minor relationship, Rape, and Sexual content
Moderate: Murder, Toxic relationship, Stalking, Child abuse, and Emotional abuse
This book was allegedly inspired by the case of Debra Lafave, whom the author went to high school with.tzinreads's review against another edition
