It’s not easy seeing your best friend die before your eyes. It might be even harder realizing that you’ve got feelings for his wife.

This starts off with heartbreak. But then we’re taken on a beautiful journey of healing, strength, peace, and love. Luke loses his best friend, but Mia loses her husband. For two years, Luke keeps his promise to Troy. He protects and cares for his wife and son. Along the way, a beautiful bond is formed. A bond that has helped them heal from their shared loss. Luke never wants to replace Troy, he just wants their loved ones to have the best life possible. And he makes sure they have that, without hesitation. Luke spends a long time convincing himself that he’s out of his mind for having a crush on Mia. But it’s so much more than just a crush. One of my favorite moments between them was their first kiss. It reminded me so much of Luke and Lorelai on Gilmore Girls. (If you know, you know!) Their love comes so naturally. They’re all in, and I’m all in! Luke never stops showing his love for Mia and Joe. Everything falls into place the way it should, the way they deserve. It’s all so sweet, and I feel so content.

My Favorite Quotes:
• “I’d save you every single day for the rest of my life if you needed me to.”
• “Don’t you dare apologize for that.”
• ‘I might be head over heels in love with his momma, but that kid has just well and truly stolen my heart.”
• “I’ll never walk away from you willingly. I’ll never leave you on purpose.”
• ‘She tastes like heaven and smells like home.’

A cute little over the top romance. Very dramatic and cheesy.

I didn’t expect this book to be so emotional yet here I was shedding a couple tears. Mia loses her husband a few days prior to giving birth to their first child and now has to navigate a world without him. Luke was their best friend and promised Troy he would to take care of Mia and the baby.

Luke and Mia’s story is so heartfelt and brings you through the feels of losing the love of your life and then trying to still live on. After two years they start to fall into a familiar routine and Luke realizes he’s developing feeling for Mia. This story deals with having survivors guilt and wanting to move on but not lose the memory of the one you lost. Then throw in a judgmental ex-in-law and things get even harder.

Luke thought the biggest problem he has he though it was hard watching his best friend die, but it’s harder knowing he has feelings for his wife. He never wanted to fall for Mia, but he knows the feelings aren’t going away.
When Mia rings panicked thinking there’s someone breaking in, Luke goes to protect her, but when Mia wants to forget the kiss happened after the calling Luke scared of a break in and Luke being the man he is say if she wants it’s forgotten.
Luke knows Mia is trying to pretend the kiss didn’t happen, but knowing she’s scared he’s been staying at her house, but finally she admits she can’t stop thinking about it, not the betrayal but that she liked it, he never meant to admit his feelings for her, but the way Mia looks at him and when she wants him to kiss her again he doesn’t hesitate and they agree to do what feels right for them.
After a visit from Troy’s parents doesn’t go well, Luke knows that Mia is thinking everything is wrong about them being together.
They both feel guilt at what they are doing Mia struggling with feeling like she’s betraying Troy even though he’s been gone for two years, and Luke feeling like he’s stealing his best friend’s family. Can they move past the guilt to be happy together and realise it’s what Troy would have wanted.

Awwww! Such a sweet story! Mr March will have you swooning as you fall in love with this big ole teddy bear named Luke. He's an ex-army soldier, looking after his best friend's wife and kid. if that doesn't get the heart fluttering, I don't know what will!

Luke, Mia and Troy were like three peas in a pod, always together. But things didn't quite go to plan when they joined the army and only one came home. On a promise, Luke spends his time doing everything he can to take care of Mia and her boy. After a few years of this, it becomes more and more obvious that his feelings for her are less than platonic and he wants more.

This is one of those stories where you can't help but fall for the characters - well, most of them. There's one in particular who will make you want to reach into your kindle and throttle her, but the rest are so lovable! It'll pull on the heart strings and make you go all gushy.
