I have yet to read anything by Seanan McGuire that wasn't a delight. This is certainly no exception.

I really enjoyed the first book in the series, but this one really kicked it up a notch. Being a full novel instead of a collection of short stories loosely tied together (which I enjoyed in the first one) made for a deeper, more important adventure. I don't normally read a lot of ghost stories, but the whole living, dead and twilight aspects are really interesting, plus a little Greek mythology which I l0ve. Really hoping for more stories from the Phantom Prom Date.

I tried to keep this as a work read, but I eventually gave in and had to read at home.

Also, because of this book, I've found myself contemplating how exactly does a person pee. I WAS NOT EXPECTING THIS, SEANAN.

Probably because it’s the second in a trilogy and it’s usually how that kind of stuff works, I felt like I fell into this book a lot easier than the first one. I liked it a little better, but I’m also kind of disappointed because, while Angel of the Overpass is marked as the third in this trilogy, I picked it up and was immediately confused and now realize I have to read several other books before I’m going to be able to read Ghost Roads #3. Thankfully, I’m satisfied about where this one ended, and don’t feel like I’m going to go mad while I wait.
