4.5. Going back into Stephen and Crane's world again was so fun, I love them. I think the pacing of this novelette and the series as a whole is really well done. Loving it so far! Also, KJ Charles writes amazing horror, which I didn't expect, but certainly wasn't mad about.

Wonderful follow-up to The Magpie Lord. This one brought a full and diverse cast of secondary characters to fill out the world.

The Magpie Lord felt like such a contained story that I wasn't sure what to expect from this sequel. But it's such a fun addition to the story! I like it when a sequel feels like a complete story to itself, and this did. A good, quick read.
