After making a decision that would change her whole life Layla has to live with the outcome of that decision. Layla is heartbroken but knows she has nobody but herself to blame. She is living in fear and waiting for the one person she loves to come to seek revenge. Dante now has full control over Chicago it's everything he ever wanted and he should be happy but he's not because he wanted it with his girl by his side. Dante knows he should move on and leave her in the past but he can't forget about her. Layla’s life being put in danger is all the motivation that Dante needs to forget about her betrayal and go find her.

The ending of book one had me already hooked on this book before even starting it. Like the first book, there isn't much mafia action but there is more mafia in this book than there is in the first one. There are lots of lies, betrayals, and plot twists that make up for the lack of mafia action. I loved seeing the patient, and caregiver side of Dante he put his feelings aside and did whatever Layla needed. I also loved seeing Layla heal and find her true sassy side again. I wish the ending was better and that we got to see more of their life together.

Broken Promise pick up where book 1 left us. Dante can’t control himself not knowing where Layla is especially now that she is in danger. But his people find her, and they protect her but not before she gets hurt. But now there’s a price on her life Dante will do anything to keep her safe. Their love will grow through the book. But Layla will go to stay with Jiji’s uncle but he not who she thinks he is. There’s so many ups and downs throughout the book. So many people aren’t who they appear to be. But in the end Layla and Dante will finally get their HEA.

This duet has so many incredible characters and plots. I.A. Dice does amazing job with series. Dante and Layla have become one my favorite couple. They will do anything for each other, and they will do anything to keep each other safe and happy. I would definitely recommend read this book.

I liked this waybetter than the first book. The plot was interesting and the relationship felt a lot deeper and realer.
