A differenza del primo libro di questa serie questo mi ha coinvolto maggiormente dandomi maggiori informazioni sui personaggi e facendomene innamorare.

I'm not sure why I wanted to read this second book after I actually disliked the first. There was however something compelling about Jesse (I'm a sucker for those dominating but damaged men...) and I wanted to know more about him.

This was 500+ pages of exactly the same thing as the first. Fighting, friends, fighting, friends, really not friends, fighting, really friends.

Jesse is massively hypocritical but not in a Christian Grey way. Grey was obsessive but not in a creepy way. Jesse sometimes borders on creepy and needy and whiney and ridiculously hypocritical. I hate the fact that no matter what Ava does or says, there was no getting through to him.
Ava was repetative in her, "I'm not backing down..." but actually she did, every time, even once she'd found out that he had cheated on her. It just shows she has no backbone and I really disliked her after she backed down over that issue.

I found that there were a lot of grammatical mistakes in this book as well, "I stared at him in disbelieve."

I may read the third just to see how it ends, probably after a lot of fighting and sex, but I didn't really enjoy this installment.

I am so going to have Jesse withdrawal symptoms! I can't wait for the third book - why do I have to wait?? Yes I know Jesse was much more possessive in this one, but I enjoyed seeing Darker Jesse. 85% or so in my blood was pumping so fast I could feel the thumping in my ears! I thought I couldn't forgive Jesse when I found out what he did for his four "missing" days, but damn it, what happened at the end had me melting again. He is forgiven!! I found Ava less annoying in this one, although she did still annoy me at times. I felt proud of her how she dealt with Sarah, although I wouldn't have been so kind!

If my birth control started disappearing once I met someone I would definitely get suspicious, this ridiculousness infuriated me beyond belief. And I would like to know how someone is a billionaire from owning a sex club? Millionaire, maybe but I find it ridiculous that that this guy was that rich from his lucrative profession. Just like the first this was extremely entertaining but not really much respect for these characters. Jesse continues to beg Ava to disregard her job without any concern for her education or drive that put her there in the first place. In turn, Ava always ends up putting Jesse first and I just can't help thinking that these people are so narcissistic and self involved, I truly wish that her boss would have fired her. She doesn't seem concerned with her clients and never has repercussions for neglecting them, as she does through most of the book. What work has she even done for The Manor? If the author had devoted even 2 of the abundant sex scenes to her process and effort she put into the interior design for the Manor I might be able to think she was somewhat capable at her career. Also, what was the author trying to prove regarding the incident at the bar? To prove to women that they aren't capable of going out on their own and most certainly need an escort? What century is this? And last but not least: why in the hell, if this is a British book, are the running distances in miles and why is the author not using British spelling? i.e. realise vs realize? This was so aggravating to catch the inconsistencies in these books. On to the third I guess, I am a glutton for punishment.

Absolutely loved the continuation of Jesse & Ava's story, he can be the absolute sweetest man in the world and you can't help but swoon everytime he does something, or gives his reasoning for acting like an overprotective madman.

I'm mixed on this review. On one hand, I love it, and on the other I want to shake the characters. There are times this relationship is really unhealthy but then its also sweet. Yet, even with my frustration, the author has done her job because I have drank the potion and fallen down the rabbit hole because I am compelled to keep flipping the pages.

I'll be reading the next book but am a little concerned that it will be more of this unhealthy and manipulation followed by swoony and sweet.
