This was the most chaotic and confusing book I have ever read. In my opinion it didn't bring anything new to the table, only repeated the last 2 books. I guess the point was to show how rotten and foolish the humanity is but it would have made the same point if it had been 200 pages shorter. To be honest, how does Artyom trust anyone after all this gaslighting? I would have just left alone. All his perils seem stupid and useless to me. Also, I will never understand how he can yell at somebody the worst offensive stuff and 10 pages later be besties again.
Graphic: Cursing and Gaslighting
Moderate: Ableism, Adult/minor relationship, and Sexual content
Minor: Death, Blood, Medical content, and Injury/Injury detail

I finally read the last book of the series.
My favourite is still Sasha. She's great. She's lost her gullibility and somehow still kept her spark. She's incredibly strong considering everything she knows and the stuff she does to survive. Thumbs up Sasha!
Reading this book, I was rather bored. The last hundred pages were more thrilling because of the uncovering of the whole big lie however the rest wasn't the best. I had to force myself to finish this book and that's not a good sign. Compared to the other two books there was something missing. I do have to admit though that I felt the chaotic atmosphere full of hate and desperation. The writing is good and as a final book to the series, the book is good enough. Therefore even if I am not the biggest fan of this particular book and was at times bored I believe it's well written.
Page 113, Life is like a branch.
That life is like a branch … Like the tracks. There are points on them that switch those tracks. And an end of the line— not just one, but a number of them. Some people simply go from here to there, and that’s it. Some go to the depot to their final rest. Some go through a secret connecting tunnel and skip across to another branch. That is … There can be lots of ends of the line. But! Each of us has only one destination! And it’s his own! And you have to set all the points on the tracks correctly to end up at precisely your destination. To do what you were actually born into this world to do.
The end of the series is perfect. I couldn't wish for a better one.
Overall it's a good book. It's just not as great as the other two. It was fun reading this whole series. I'm glad I did.
