- HOW DARE YOU KILL MY PRECIOUS HEDWIG LIKE THAT YOU MONSTER
- Dudley and Harry making up :) It's so perfect how Vernon was arrogant and Petunia valued her pride more than the boy she raised up all the way till the end, but Dudley, the only one who saw Harry for who he really is, realised his mistake, and at least tried to make amends. "I don't think you're a waste of space." "Yeah, but coming from Dudley that's like 'I love you.'"
- Our first time actually stepping out of Hogwarts for almost the entire book and I'm not sure how I feel about it tbh. On one hand, I loved exploring the Wizarding World more, on the other hand I miss my home.
- Harry breaking up with Ginny to protect her made sense, and him just going against that and kissing her. Ron was right to be mad
- Bill Weasley is super cool
- I wish they touched more on Hermione's parents and what it must've taken for her to wipe their memories like the film did, but no ig
- Regulus Black, the unsung hero
- Ron and Harry's falling out was so real it hurt
- If I remember correctly, in the last book Hermione said you can't create food out of nothing but you can increase it's quantity if you have some. I wonder why they couldn't do that and not starve to death.
- I wanna give Kreacher a hug
- Voldy is stupid
- I wanna punch Umbridge in the face
- They stole a dragon. A whole. freaking. d.r.a.g.o.n.
- The parallels between this book and the first
- Harry using the Unforgivable curses was totally badass
- I wanna pretend Harry being all stalker-y and creepy and staring at Ginny's dot doesn't exist.
- Harry visiting his parents' graveyard was genuinely heartbreaking.
"But they were not living, thought Harry: They were gone. The empty words could not disguise the fact that his parents' mouldering remains lay beneath snow and stone, indifferent, unknowing. And tears came before he could stop them, boiling hot then instantly freezing on his face, and what was the point in wiping them off or pretending? He let them fall, his lips pressed hard together, looking down at the thick snow hiding them from his eyes the place where the last of Lily and James lay, bones now, surely, or dust, not knowing or caring that their living son stood so near, his heart still beating, alive because of their sacrifice and close to wishing, at this moment, that he was sleeping under the snow with them."
I cried.
- I understand why Harry didn't, but wouldn't Hermione have heard Bathilda speaking in Parseltongue? Why didn't she warn him?
- Harry seeing his parents get murdered through Voldemort's eyes was just-
- Ron and Harry making up was beautiful, but the lighter is definitely a poor plot device
- Huh Dumbledore's past sure seems interesting. Looks like a perfect opportunity to make an entire movie franchise and milk the shit out of thi-
- Romione: Horcruxes. Harry: Hallows. Romione: Horcruxes. Harry: Hallows. Romione: Horcruxes. Harry: Hallows. Romione: Horcruxes. Harry: Hallows. Romione: Horcruxes. Harry: Hallows. Please, for god's sake, trust Harry for once.
- The Battle of Hogwarts is amazing. One of the best plot lines in the entire series.
- Can we talk about how Harry defended McGonagall? With a Cruciatus Curse, no less. "I see what Bellatrix meant, you really need to mean it." "Potter, that was foolish!" "He spat at you." So proud
- Why did every other house rise up to protect Harry except the Slytherins? Why did someone from every other house stay for the battle, but not even a single Slytherin did? Here was a perfect chance to redeem them but nooo Slytherins always the baddies boo
- At least, Slughorn marched into battle later on, showing not all of them are evil
- Remus showing off the picture of his son to everyone 🥺
- Percy got a perfect redemption arc. I love him
- Ron can speak Parseltongue now?? What even
- Fred and Percy's final conversation </3
- It feels like Fred was killed just to make people cry. Killing off Percy makes more sense cuz he's just been redeemed and it would make people sympathise with him more, but I'm also glad he survived.
- Seeing everything through Harry's POV and how each death affected him hit right in the feels. To Fred Weasley, Remus Lupin, Colin Creevey, and the rest Fallen Fifty /*
I got spoiled for the Prince's Tale when I was reading this for the first time as a kid, but I didn't believe it cuz ain't no way you're telling me Snape was in love with Lily, but woahhhh. One of the best plot twists.
- It puts the Marauders in a different light. They truly were bullies, and James truly changed for Lily while Snape didn't. No wonder she chose him
- Harry walking to his death with his loved ones gahhhh
- Harry realising what he's doing to his godson is literally what happened to him T-T
- Normally I HATE resurrection, but here I genuinely love it. It makes sense how it was achieved and everything that led up to it.
- Hagrid and McGonagall's reaction to Harry's "death" :(((
- I wish Harry used Avada Kedavra or literally something other than Expelliarmus to kill Voldemort, but this is a children's book so I'll let that one pass. Kid me certainly loved it this way.
Harry's final conversation with Ron, Hermione and Dumbledore's portrait, returning the Elder Wand back to the grave, explaining how the power would die with Harry, wondering if Kreacher would make him a sandwich, Kingsley being made the Minister, people coming out of Imperius Curses all over the country, everything was literally perfect. Until...
- EPILOGUE. Why, literally why.Â
- Okay it was nice to see that the trio were still close nineteen years later, knowing Teddy Lupin grew up fine was nice, Neville being the Herbology professor was nice, everyone being married to their childhood sweetheart was cliché but also nice, implying there's a chance that Albus might end up in Slytherin but Harry was okay with it was nice, it was all nice but-
- The names are extremely questionable. Like James Sirius, I understand. But Albus Severus?? Really? There were so many other names they could've gone with like Hagrid, Remus, Arthur but no, it had to be Albus Severus. I get it, it's supposed to tell us that Harry doesn't hold a grudge against Snape anymore, but that man literally bullied kids, Harry included. Why?Â
- Why didn't Ginny get to name a child?
- Harry missed his calling as a DADA professor. He saw how most Aurors were corrupt and decided to join them anyway. Oh well.Â
- The best option would've been to have no epilogue at all, but if one had to be included, I would've loved to see something like seven years into the future where it shows how everyone is coping up, not nineteen freaking years.Â
- At least, Harry didn't get any nightmares of Voldemort returning, his scar didn't hurt him for nineteen years, all was well. Oh wait- 💀
