my 14yo self would be mad if I rated it anything less than 5stars so we don’t really have a choice here

This is my third John Green book (Turtles All The Way Down was first and The Fault in Our Stars was second). I loved this book and it's my favorite so far. I just finished the Secret History and was craving something similar. Looking for Alaska was perfect. I wish I read this when I was a teenager.

I already knew John Green was amazing. This book presents further concrete proof that he is a literary genius. Inciteful, beautiful, and haunting, this is a must-read for all. One of my new favorites, and definitely a book I will recommend to everyone I meet! :) DFTBA

Started out great - but I was completely annoyed after the 'big event.' (Well actually, long before the 'big event,' to be completely honest). Not because of what happened, (you could see that coming from miles away) but because of how all the characters were acting. I just couldn't buy that Alaska's character would have left such a deep impact on any of their lives. It annoyed me that anyone would have been so in love with her anyways....she was crazy. This book was just kinda meh.

there were some things about this book that i really didn’t like (namely the way that the author would not stop mentioning women’s cleavage and just how some of the female characters were written in general) and i also found a lot of the characters extremely annoying at times, however i actually did find it very interesting and thought-provoking by the end, and even felt quite connected to the characters. the writing was definitely not my favourite, but once i got used to it, i started to really appreciate it and how it built very specific imagery.
