I read the book earlier in the year but to hear sexy Rhun come to life by Jack Calihan was so freaking amazing! I already liked reading To Seduce a Witch's Heart and absolutely loved having the main characters in my ears talking and interacting to each other that had me hooked even more than I was originally when I read it. I think Nadine chose perfectly by having Jack and Lia play Merle and Rhun. I'm so glad I have the entire series on audiobook so I can hear the entire characters as Nadine has portrayed them in her head!

TW ~ Violence, sexual content, blood

Merle needs a demon confide to the shadows (a prison of sorts) help to find her sister who has been kidnapped by another demon. Said demon confided in the shadows, Rhun has been wrongly imprisoned for 20 years and makes no plans to go back after he is released.

I loved how grumpy Merle was and how upbeat and charming Rhun was!! I especially loved how passionate they were about each other!!

3.5 stars, not sure why I didn’t love it. It had snark and the hero, Rhun, was wonderful but there were a few things that bothered me.

Definitely Insta, which I don’t care for but good banter:
“Well?” Hands on her hips, she met his gaze with a challenge in her eyes—and an unapologetic flare of lust in her energy pattern.
“Let’s get started. I expect to be well-pleasured.”
He blinked, stumped for a moment by the change in her attitude.

It bothered me how much time was spent canoodling when they were supposed to be rescuing her sister. And the daily timelines felt off. They sure sexed and slept and watched all kinds of long movies for what seemed longer than the daylight hours allowed. Didn’t add up.

As a romance novel this very completely fulfills the requirement of being steamy. But unlike many others of it’s genre, it has an actual plot with a beginning, middle, and ending and has at least two characters with a small amount of depth to them. The side characters are very much moving scenery, so it doesn’t reach anything resembling “literature”. But as a romance novel it was surprisingly good… beyond the steamy bits.
