Great standalone book! I was intrigued from page one! I love a lil mystery mixed in with my romance books. I absolutely loved Reese and Chase….although I could’ve wrung Chase’s next a time or 2 which is why the 4 stars instead of 5

Only not giving it 5 stars because I wouldn't be as forgiving as Reese if a man did what Chase did to me. But the build up? Sensational. The performance? Even better. Suddenly, I'm inspired.

Going in I thought this book would be your typical office romance story and it was furthest from the truth!! This book had me laughing out loud, sighing, smiling and clutching my heart!! As a reader I love it when a book makes me feel all the feels!! This book sucked me in and I couldn't stop reading.

Chase and Reese I loved them as a couple! They both have so much in common and you could just feel the connection and chemistry oozing out the pages. I loved their banter and everything was just perfect! I loved the build up of the relationship. They took the time to get to know each other and let their walls down which wasn't easy for either of them to do!! They had a lot more in common which each other than they realized.

On to my favorite part, the feels!!! Man we had some tense and angst filled moments in this book. Several times I just wanted to wrap my arms around Chase and tell him it was going to be ok! My heart broke with and for him in this story. I won't go into details but when you read you will want to give him a hug as well. As the story went on I also wanted to smack him upside his head and stay ENOUGH!!!! You can't change the past and focus on the future!! He was too stubborn for his own good but a part of me didn't blame him and understood his actions.

"Don’t focus on the what ifs. Focus on what is." As someone who always focuses on the "what ifs" I loved this quote!!

I'm so happy the author went a different route and didn't do the typical office romance story. This story had everything I loved romance, comedy, angst and a wonderful message!! Well done Vi Keeland!!

Probably more of a 3.5/4! Enjoyed this one a fair bit. I’m beginning to learn Keeland’s style and the fact that her male leads are always gonna do or say at least one thing that make me go “um excuse you?” but this was a fun romance read with some good smut and excellent angst.

If I could give more stars I would!

This book had two strong characters - Reese and Chase. Both witty, had a great sense of humour and was a lot of fun. This is my first book by this author so wasn't sure what to expect but I loved it. The story was in both of their POV. I'm not usually keen on CEO type books as they're very predictable but this is one good read! Chase had the best one liners and such a sassy personality you really couldn't not fall for his charm. Would definitely read again

Reese gave Chase the kick in the ass that he needed. This had my pet peeve though: pregnancy surprise.
