This is probably my favorite couple from the series so far. I love how their relationship evolved and that tension was everything!!

Cletus, the 3rd(?) oldest of the Winston brothers and Jennifer.

SpoilerJennifer is a sheltered, young 20-something, think one of those kids whose mom forced them into child pageants or stardom. She's been told how to act, what to wear, her entire life. She was homeschooled. She works 80+ hour unpaid weeks for the bakery, and is forced to dress up like a doll/mascot in like 50s housewife costume ALL THE TIME. She has dark (black?) hair naturally but her mom has forced her to dye it blonde forever. Her dad is the school principal and her mom is the owner of the bakery where Jennifer works. Her dad is controlling, insults her intelligence, goes through her correspondence giving her no privacy. Jennifer hates her existence, but she's a survivor. All she really wants is to get a husband, start a family and have her own life.

While at the  Sheriff's office Jennifer films Cletus doing something suspicious.
Cletus brings in Shelly Sullivan to work at the auto shop. She's the sister of millionaire security CEO Quinn from the Knitting in the City series. But she has like OCD / asbergers or something which makes her odd, but she's also like a 6 ft tall Nordic goddess. Cletus decides they're "suited" and plans to court her (of course Shelly and Beau end up together in the next book).
Jennifer sneaks out and confronts Cletus, blackmailing him with the video of him stealing evidence from the Sheriff's office, which was evidence needed to arrest one of the Iron Wraiths. She makes him help her find a husband. Cletus contacts Alex (from Love Hacked) to delete it and dismisses her, but now he notices her around and sees what a sly people watcher she is. He decides to help her anyway. He gives her assignments to empower her to be her own person. He changes his perception of her from just the "Banana Cake Queen" to seeing that there's more to her. Jennifer starts having feelings for Cletus as he helps her.

Jennifer goes on a practice date with Billy to the jam session, which lets Cletus see her in normal clothes for the first time and he gets really jealous of seeing Jennifer with other men. Jennifer starts buying her own clothes, eating food she actually likes. Later she flirts with Beau at the auto shop, and Cletus asks her about why her parents approve of Billy so much (his political aspirations) but Jennifer tells him how that doesn't matter to her she just wants to find love and be a mom. She loves that Cletus compliments her for more than her looks. But Cletus won't admit that he wants her, he's set that he "wants someone more experienced." Jennifer gives up on him and gives him back the blackmailing evidence she had stored on usb sticks. We find out Cletus is afraid to have kids because he's afraid of his temper, it used to be REALLY bad as a kid and he uses his logic now to prevent that.

Jennifer confronts her mom about what she wants/needs. Her mom is pissed. Jennifer has a run-in with the Iron Wraiths at the store while picking up bananas. Cletus rescues her with a car chase to Jessica and Duane's cabin where she and Cletus have a hot topless makeout session, but Jessica interrupts them. Cletus tells her he loves her. The next day Jennifer's dad goes to the auto shop to warn Cletus off from Jennifer. Cletus tells him that he knows he's having an affair with his secretary. Cletus tells Jennifer she and he should move to Claire McClure's old house. Jennifer says she wants to become financially independent first, but she's forced to move in sooner because her parents basically disown her. Jennifer walks miles barefoot to the Winston's. Jennifer confronts Cletus that he's trying to be controlling of her too, which Cletus realizes is true that he fucked up.

Cletus reveals that he's been organizing a "reco charge(sp)" that will bring down all the Iron Wraiths. The family votes on what to do. Jennifer's mom divorces her dad, he was controlling her too. She and her mom reconcile. Jennifer and Cletus agree to get married.
