Kate Morton novels are great escapes. This one's one of my favorites, nice little mystery, history and brits

Long book but worth every page... my first Kate Morton and not my last. She is a wonderful writer. Loved the back and forth in time and mystery that unfolded slowly but steadily.

I thought this book was really good... until the end. I'm not a fan of books that wrap everything up with a bow and happy ending. The last two chapters managed to solve 2 murders and find a missing child, reunite an adopted child and find love. A little too neat and tidy.

I love how she gives you just enough of a taste of a clue to keep you hooked. I hated to put this down, and even more to finish it. Absolutely delightful.

This book took me a while to get into, switching between four generations can be a challenge, but once I figured it out, it was a fantastic mystery!
