I finally got around to reading this one! It only too me forever to get to it but that's on me and not the author. I needed to be in the mood for a quick, insta-love kind of book and I was finally in the mood.
Never having read anything by Bliss, I wasn't sure what to expect but the book sounded like a quick read with a damsel in distress trope, sprinkled in with a cinnamon roll of a man that could kill and some flirting and I was sold.

Lucio is a total player but not a mean one, sounds like he lays down the rules to the ladies so while no hearts are broken, he's also not really loved someone till the night Delilah walks into his bar, with bay in tow and in need of help. Literally thought it was insta-lust but Bliss did something different — she added the family dynamic in early and it sets the tone for not just this book but the whole series!

Lucio is a sweetheart that would do anything to protect this lady and I appreciate it, I do, but Delilah is a character that I felt needed a bit more time on her own feet than the first few chapters but that's my opinion. Otherwise I enjoyed the book as a whole. As flirty as some scenes were between the two MCs, nothing was overly graphic or too detailed but also not exactly a fade to black either.

A solid start for the rest of the series, as there's more, a book for each sibling is my guess and so character building wise, Bliss had set the groundwork for the rest of the family in this one so I can only learn more as I go on.
